Reaching the highest peak of Cambodia (Phnom Aural) in the Cardamom Mountain was a big adventure as I did it completely solo and getting even to the start of the trail was a challenge itself. Due to the rainy season, I needed to pass through many rivers. Then, I camped safely at one of the amazing rocks with the view on the foggy mountains. The hike up and down took around 12 hours from my camping site at the bottom. Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary was established to protect the biodiversity but I saw some logging around the area. At the summit, there is a Buddhist temple without anyone residing there. / Aug 2019
