Artist's Description

In the 1970s, the indigenous people of North Laos were told by authorities to move down from the remote mountainous villages to the small township linked to the rest of the country. They were promised the access to drinking water and electricity. These finally came 30 years afterwards. Laos has many ethnic groups, one of them are Khmu people.
